About
Video poker is in a way simply the slot machine version of regular poker.

where as in video poker a player just needs to make the best ranking hand possible.

There are several ways to play video poker, each way differing somewhat in payoffs and rules,
but all played in the same basic manner.
Video poker uses the standard 52 deck, sometimes using specific cards as "wild cards"
(cards that can take any rank or suit you want).
A player is dealt 5 cards, and needs to choose which cards if any to hold unto.
The other cards are replaced by the machine, making a new five card hand.
The player's goal is to get a poker ranking hand, from Royal Flush to a Pair.
The higher ranking hand - the better, for there is a clear hierarchy of hands and the sums which they win.
In most video poker games, a player can win up to the full amount of money in the machine.
The payoff list is always posted on the machine itself.
