HAND
(1) All the cards held by one player.
(2) The five cards that can win the pot. Usually they make up the highest ranking hand, though in low games a player can win with the lowest ranking poker hand.
(3) The five cards determining the poker ranking.
(4) A single poker deal.
HEADS-UP PLAY - When only two players are playing.
HOLE CARDS - Cards which are dealt face down, so that the other players don't see them. I'INSURANCE - A side agreement when someone is all-in for a player in a pot to put up money that guarantees a payoff of a set amount in case the opponent wins the pot.
