D'DEAD CARD - A card that cannot be played in the game.
DEAD COLLECTION BLIND - A fee collected by the player who has the dealer button. Sometimes it is used instead of a seat rental fee.
DEAD HAND - A hand that cannot be played in the game.
DEAD MONEY - Chips which aren't part of any players bet that are put in the pot.
DEAL - Giving out the cards to the players or putting them on the board. The word usually refers to the whole round, from the shuffling and cutting until a winner is declared.
DEALER BUTTON - When there is no house dealer, a flat disk is used to pick out which of the players would be the dealer for each hand. Usually players will simply call it "button".
DEAL OFF - Taking the button (i.e the dealers position) and all the blinds.
DEAL TWICE - In a situation where no players are placing more bets, having a winner take half the pot and then distributing out the rest of the cards to determine who takes the other half of the pot.
DECK - The set of cards used in the game. Some games use a deck of 52 cards, thus not using the jokers, while others use 53 cards, including one joker and leaving the second out.
DISCARD(S) - In a draw game, taking cards out of a hand to replace them with other cards. (The name may also refer to the cards being taken out.)
DOOR CARD - In a game of Stud poker, the first card which is dealt face-up.
DOWNCARDS - In a stud poker game, cards which are dealt out facedown.
DRAW - Replacing the cards that were initially given out in the hand. In some places (California, for instance) "draw" is used only in reference to drawing high, and drawing low is referred to as "lowball."
DRAWING DEAD - Drawing to a hand that doesn't stand a chance to win because another player's hand will take the pot, no matter what cards are drawn.
DOMINATED - A hand which used between one out card and three, thus lowering very much its chances to get higher ranking.
E'EARLY POSITION - A player's position which requires him or her to act before most of the other players do.
F'FACECARD - A card with a royal face (a king, queen, or jack).
FIFTH STREET - The third round of betting in Seven Card poker game.
FIXED LIMIT - A predetermined betting sum for a round of limit poker.
FLASHED CARD - A card which is partly exposed.
FLOOR PERSON - An employee of the casino, who takes care of seating players and other tasks.
FLOP - In Omaha or Texas Hold'em poker, the three community cards that are dealt face-up, together, after the players have finished the first betting round.
FLUSH - A hand of five cards of the same suit (not in sequence).
FOLD - Dropping out of the round.
FOURTH STREET - In a game of Seven Card Stud poker, the forth card dealt, after the first round of bets.
FOULED HAND - A hand that can no longer play.
FORCED BET - A required bet which starts the first betting round.
FREEROLL - When having the opportunity win something, without taking any risks.
FULL BUY - Putting in at least the minimum sum required to enter a game.
FULL HOUSE - A hand consisting of three of a kind and a pair.
